People say that they used to believe God, and they're lying. vs. 13. How? Faith is small and grows into something larger than life. You are fully convinced and persuaded without worldly evidence. If the Bible is FACT.
Feeling-Fact-Faith.
For instance, virgin birth isn't something that's medically possible to man. (Other than artificial insemenation), We know it was called "woman's seed". Only, in the Bible, God caused it to grow without human fertilization.
How can we believe that? By faith! vs. 3
"Confident Expectation".
Faith appears in different qualities amidst people.
1. If you have to see to believe, then that's not faith. vs. 1
2. Without faith, God will not smile upon you, Hebrew 11:6
Read Verse 13. It's about the Elders. What's an Elder? It's a godly person mentioned in the Bible.
This is how it should work. FAITH>FACT>FEELING.
Faith happens in the heart because of love.
Most people want to get a feeling. Then, they'll survey the facts to see if they could have faith.
Faith happens wbecaue of love.
1. I will believe.
2. Teach me the facts.
3. Woo!
1- Feelings, facts, and faith are all a part of the Christian life.
The Bible (reading it intelligently with a plan and purpose) increases our faith.
2- The 3 F's must be in the proper order.
3-If they're backwards and someone hurts your feelings at church, you've lost your (fake) faith. You doubt the facts. "And everybody's a hypocrite, so why go?"
4- Seek to increase faith, not feeling. Collect faith and facts, and later feelings will come.
The sun rises whether we believe or feel it, or not. That's why you need to be careful about invitinv persuasive people to talk to you about flase beliefs. You'll end up falthless. It will wane and possibly die.
Decide what is right by the Bible and not by someone's "great personality" or success.
I am a Baptist. It's because I believe the Bible. Some things are not what the Bible ever said.
