Ever feel alone, though you're standing in a group of people.
Ever feel like no one really loves you at all.
Ever feel like no one knows who you are?
No one ever did. Not by far.

Ever feel more in tune with nature?
Understanding tiny, creeping things...
More than you understand the people,
The words they say, what do they really mean?

I've found more in feeding wild birds,
And holding a grasshopper, in my fingers.
Than all these masks that people wear.
And still, the feeling lingers.

If I were to jump off this mountain,
I know that I'd fall, and would not fly.
No growing wings to fly away, far,
I'd just drop, and then I would just die.

And I find more peace, out on some stump in the woods.
Watching, and waiting for life to pass my way.
Than I feel sitting in front of some t.v. screen, or reading some book,
Any day.

I love to watch all of God's creatures.
Surely in them, is the secret to it all.
And I can pretend that I could fly away,
Like a martin, chasing bugs, inside the fall.

Like the deer, so still, standing alone there.
In the thicket, inside of the brush.
And when the breezes catch my face unexpectedly.
I feel a calm, a peace, a hush.

I could sit, and write things out forever,
Paradise is a real place, when I'm here.
And everything seems like it makes sense here.
Everything seems balanced, and so clear.

Lord, please come now, and take away my burdens.
Calm this wave, that's tossed all to and fro.
For only Lord, it's You, Who really knows me.
If not for You, then, Lord, where could I go?
