Lord I Am Thankful - A Prayer To My God And Saviour

Lord I am thankful to You for everything
Everything that ever was and now is
For everyone that has ever touched my life
In any small way

Thank You, Jesus, my Lord
For all the Winters that you carried me through
For all the beautiful Springs and Summers
For all the might awesome Autumns

Thank You for all the times I went crying to bed
And I was comforted
I awoke to birds and someone making a meal just for me
And by the end of the day I was laughing again

Thank You for always giving me at least one true friend
Even if it was my own husband
That I could always trust and rely upon
Even when I had not been perfect

Thank You, that even though doctors upon doctors
Said I'd never have any children
You have given me three, though some said it's too many; and some say 'not enough'
It's the perfect amount for me!

You have made me a joyful mother of children
And my children have a father, that I did not have
And You helped me prove that no matter how bad
I have never even truly considered leaving any behind

Thank You Lord that though some people seem to hate me
That through You I can find the grace to be sufficient
And love them anyway...even make them laugh sometimes
And be a blessing and servant always; I see Your hand working!

Thank You Lord for the times I was sick
And people took such good care of me
My husband, my kids, and friends as well
I was visited, fed, and given warm blankets and thoughts

Thank You Lord for teaching me that tomorrow still comes
No matter what yesterday held
I'm so glad You've walked the whole way with me
I am far from the newbie as far as you're concerned

I thank You for the things you've delivered me out of
And that You could do it again
But sometimes You give the strength to endure
And have abundant life and joy in the midst through Your Holy Spirit

I thank You that my husband, who's been through so much
To this day still sees me as lovely and lovable
Even though I've not always been a good wife at all
He still says, "I love you" and really means it.

Thank You for all my kids!
They are so much smarter than I would have ever thought possible.
I am still amazed that I was chosen to be a Mommy!
And that they love me no matter what a failure I may be!

Thanks for even the pets along the way
The ones that seem to know when I need special loving
The ones that may get on my nerves now and then
But they still offer so much love and plucky comic relief at times!

Thank You for always being BIG and not SMALL
Thank You for all the times You fed us
Thank You for all the treasures we've found over the years!
Thank You most of all for keeping us healthy in spite of our abuse of our bodies

Thank You for all the things You've taught me
Thank You for how You care about everyone
Thank You for Salvation most of all
And for walking with me all the way.
